Lying Fallow 90 x 120cm
This is a selection of mixed media paintings. I like working on canvas and board in a variety of sizes. I apply a gesso ground and use various materials to build up the surfaces before I apply paint. I build up layers of colour in order to create the effect of veiled light. The marks float across the surface giving the paintings a dream like quality. All my work whether it is photography, print, assemblage or painting, reflects my fascination with the surface appearance, marks and textures.
